With French, Beninese and Togolese (West Africa) heritage, Gracieuse Amah (Grace) is an Arts Manager, French Intellectual Property Lawyer, Community dancer and Choreographer. Passionate dancer of African dances since the early age of 8, she completed two years of contemporary dance as a major in high school and then spent daily hours to refine her craft in African dances. Brought up in a household of musicians and dancers, she has been immersed from a young age to African dances and their culture.

She believes cultural dances and especially African dances are historic and thus a medium of understanding between populations. Consequently, she is always eager to broaden her knowledge, skills and cultural understanding of new dance style. From her point of view, life is an ongoing development process which means she will always be a student. This reflects her commitment, passion and genuity to deliver authentic experiences and knowledge. Her infectious positivity and welcoming demeanour made her recently earn her nickname Kwabo (Welcome) Grace.

Grace is a multidisciplinary creative force who has always felt compelled to empower others through arts. She thus created Kwabo Events, a social enterprise promoting mental and physical health benefits of African dance culture and practice. Her drive to positively impact individuals has led her to work in the community and arts sectors for 12 years surrounded by musicians, dancers and singers from all backgrounds. She has performed internationally in France and Australia and started to deliver weekly African dance workshops since 2002.

Since she created Kwabo Events, she collaborated and worked with diverse community organisations such as the Drum Youth services, SIGNAL, Auspicious Arts Projects, Hoppers Crossing Youth Centre, Outer Urban Projects etc. to design, implement and/or deliver creative support programs for students and families with migrant and refugee backgrounds.
